The Project

Trisoplast can be applied in many places. No matter how large, expansive or bumpy / un-even. The project on Zeeasterweg in Lelystad had it all. We provided the bottom lining of a new landfill cell  of no less than 95,000 m2 and subsequent new additional phases of 51,000 m2 in 2018 and 32,000 m2 in 2022.

Slopes

For years, the waste disposal point on Zeeasterweg in Lelystad has been the place for companies and private individuals to deposit their waste. To be able to process all that waste properly in the future, NV Afvalzorg constructed a new 95,000 m2 landfill section in 2008. A thin layer of Trisoplast was used to properly insulate the bottom of the compartment and ensure no soil pollution. A step forward, as a much thicker sand bentonite layer was traditionally used here. Thanks to its better insulating effect, flexibility and higher chemical resistance, Trisoplast is better suited for this kind of purpose. But above all, the easy installation under all kinds of conditions certainly improved the quality. After all, the subsoil was 'bulging' with undulations.

Tailor-made

The Trisoplast also had to be applied in an unconventional way. Every 15 metres, a kind of trench was made in the horizontal plane in which the Trisoplast had to be applied. This is where the percolate drains were later placed. Despite this deviating application method, we succeeded in applying a high-quality seal quickly and professionally. A fine example of how Trisoplast can be used as a custom-made solution for specific customer requirements.
